Hi there. Long comment warning. Bit random but I just saw your name and thought I'd just say how much I love your Path of the Eldar trilogy. I did a book review on the first one when I was 13! And finally finished the trilogy at the end of my last year of school. Your writing and worldbuilding in those books was very inspiring for my writing, although I've never committed to any other Warhammer books or figures beyond one pack I bought and didn't paint at age 13. I took the omnibus with me on a trip me and my classmates took after we'd graduated. I ended up finishing it on the last morning of that trip, and I can remember the last sentence of the last short story really moved me. Anyway just wanted to share that. I do have some more of your Warhammer work on my tbr shelf!
Burnout and breakdown are just common pitfalls. Don't be put off from shooting for your target career. Just make sure you know how it works in reality and have a sensible long-term strategy in place. "The system" is often set up to exploit creators and the opacity and general marketing flim-flam that goes into glamour industries like movies and comics can drive you into bad places without you even realising. So keep your boots on the ground, use a reliable career map and get going!
Thank you. I've learnt a lot since I started actively seeking advice, connections and opportunities this year. I've got to work on that long-term strategy, but I'm getting going!
Mate, I'm here on Notes and wotnot, so please don't hesitate to ask a question about anything specific. If I've got time, I'll give you my best answer.
Thank you so much! Maybe in the build up to the comic con I'm going to at the end of this month I'll have some more questions about talking to artists.
Art by Neil Roberts? I wonder what became of him? 😀

That's awesome!
Thank you, it’s always nice to hear.
I don't like the sound of a burnout and breakdown swamp. Thanks for all the advice!
